More in detail :
The use of fragrant materials begins with the Egyptians under the sign of religion and offering to the Gods. Then came the use of body oils and cosmetics. Medicinal ointments made from aromatic plants were developed by the Greeks. Masters of the trade in spices and fragrant powders, the Arabs learned the secret of chemistry from the Greeks and thus contributed to the spread of perfume. This bilingual exhibition (French-Arabic) presents through its panels the knowledge of the Pharaonic Egyptians in terms of perfumery, cosmetics, toilets... as well as their different uses in perfumery, pharmacology and religious rites. From interactive manipulations, the visitor will be able to get drunk with smells known or not, become familiar with the world of perfumery, discover reconstituted objects from ancient Egypt, test his nose...
