European Heritage Days - September 19 and 20, 2026
Heritage Days at Chamerolles: €5 for the weekend, your nose and your calves will thank you!
We warmly welcome you from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for two days of (re)discovering our heritage, whether it's historical, olfactory, or botanical.
On September 19 and 20, the Château de Chamerolles is revealing its secrets for only €5 (and it’s free for children under 6). Here’s what’s waiting for you: (scroll down on the page)
What's the plan?
1/ The History of the Castle in 20 Minutes Flat: (in french only)
To learn everything about Chamerolles in the shortest time, micro-tours from the main courtyard are offered at 11 AM, 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM, and 4:30 PM. Quick, efficient, perfect for impressing everyone at your next family meal.
2/ Tease Your Nostrils in 20 Minutes Flat: (in french only)
The ultimate olfactory test at Chamerolles Castle. As the kingdom of perfume, come and see at the perfume organ if your sense of smell is worthy of a master perfumer. Thanks to our expert guide, a demonstration around the perfumer’s desk is available regularly throughout the day (10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 2 PM, 3 PM, 4 PM, 5 PM). The perfect chance to find out if you have a "nose" for scents or just a knack for guessing them.
3/ VIP access to the Châtelet (by reservation!): (in french only)
You finally get to enter the famous massive tower at the castle's entrance. Yes, the one you may have already passed under thinking, "what's inside there?". It's closed all year, but this weekend, you can play lord and gain exclusive access to push open the doors and discover its secrets. Be careful, super-limited slots in the morning (10:30, 11:00, 11:30). Book quickly, otherwise it will be too late to play explorers: call 02 38 39 84 66.
4/ A real nature break in the gardens:
To beautifully close the season's photo exhibition, 29 giant shots by Damien Leguel and Robert Theyssens are scattered along the Renaissance garden paths. Wildlife, plants, and landscapes of Loiret: enough to convince you that local biodiversity is pretty cool. Perfect for exploring on your own.
See you this weekend?
