🌸 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY: TRIBUTE TO THE PIONEERS OF PERFUME 🌸

09 March 2026

To celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th, the Château de Chamerolles is highlighting the women who revolutionized the world of perfumery! 🧴✨

While the profession of "nose" is increasingly female-dominated today, did you know that unsung heroes were true pioneers as early as the late 19th century?

Following in the footsteps of female creators...

As you stroll through our Perfume Walk, you'll follow in the footsteps of these audacious creators who, like the objects in our collections, tell a story of elegance and expertise:

🧪 Marie-Thérèse de Laire: As early as 1891, she conceived "bases" (blends of synthetic molecules and natural materials) that enabled the creation of some of the greatest modern perfumes.

🌿 Germaine Cellier: A force of nature who, in the 1940s, established powerful and daring olfactory signatures (such as Vent Vert and Bandit).

✨ Joséphine Catapano: The creator behind the iconic "Youth Dew" by Estée Lauder and "Fidji" by Guy Laroche.

🧤 Félicie Wanpouille: The visionary businesswoman who propelled the House of Caron to new heights thanks to her brilliant intuition.

Behind each bottle displayed on the second floor of our castle, there is often the spirit and tenacity of a woman who made her mark in a world that was once very masculine. 💪👑

Come and discover their legacy and the evolution of hygiene and beauty through the centuries here with us!
