Guided tours
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays: 3 pm (subject to guide being available)*
* except April 6 and 7, 2024 due to the free “Les Loirétains” weekend (free access to the castle upon presentation of proof of address).
From 1 July to 31 August: every day, guided tours lasting 1 hour 15 minutes 11 am, 2:30 pm, 4 pm (in French only)
Guided tours: charge additional to admission fee. +€2 full charge, +€1 reduced charge.
Groups: guided tours can be organised if a reservation is made.
25 people per group maximum
Group guided tours are available in French, English, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and German (by reservation only).

Colouring booklets for 4-6 year olds and game booklets for 7-12 year olds are available at the castle reception.
Geomotifs: With the Baludik application, go in search of 15 decorative details hidden in the castle. Can you find them? Possibility of loaning smartphones in exchange for an identity document - Workshops:
During the school holidays in February, Spring, All Saints' Day and Christmas, creative workshops (by reservation) are offered on Wednesdays. A different theme is proposed for each period.

- The Secret Word
Like every year, the castle's must-see treasure hunt "the Secret Word" is back in July and August. Riddles and challenges await you in the park and Renaissance gardens. Sometimes your sense of smell will be your best ally.
Les Cham'Cartes :
Discover the castle and gardens with a bag full of ideas! 10 cards with games and missions to do together as you go along the route. A few accessories will help you: binoculars, scented bottles, drawing board and colored pencils to motivate the children.
Guided tour for groups
Associations, tour operators, tourist offices, clubs, etc. You are a group and would like personalized support to discover our castle, then opt for the group tour. For 1h30, the guide will be your best ambassador to tell you the great and small history of this site where 500 years have passed since the founding of the castle.
In short, the guided tour lasts 1h30. By reservation only, you will be able to speak with our group representative for a most personalized welcome, meeting your expectations and our constraints. If the guide is available, the tour is available in different foreign languages: French, English, Dutch, German, Spanish and Portuguese.

About the dogs at the castle of Chamerolles
Small dogs kept in bags, guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed in the park, gardens and in the castle. For large dogs that cannot fit in bags, we regret not allowing them at the Château de Chamerolles.

Carte Pass: personalised, valid 1 year, unlimited entry: €18
- Free: for children under 6, wheelchair users (only the park, the gardens and the stables are accessible because of numerous steps), journalists, Le Loiret staff, tour guides, members and staff of the APJRC and the Châteaux de la Loire Association.
The full Château de Chamerolles rate allows a reduced admission fee with our partner (valid for one year): Sully-sur-Loire Château, Gien Château-Museum, Loris Museum, Arboretum des Grandes Bruyères and the Loire Marine Museum at Châteauneuf-sur-Loire.

How to get to the château? We'll give you directions and tips for getting there! Less than 1 hour 45 minutes from Paris, 2 hours from Tours, and 35 minutes from Orléans, the Château de Chamerolles awaits you to discover its history, its rich furnishings, its Perfume Promenade, and its Renaissance gardens.

By car, here are our routes through Loiret...
From Paris and Tours by car (free parking at the château)

Directions from Paris: Take the A6B, N20, D721, D921, etc., then the D2152 towards Rte de Gallerand/D109 to Chilleurs-aux-Bois for 1 hour 20 minutes (92.4 km). Then, follow the Rte de Gallerand/D109 towards your destination.
From Tours -->
Take the A10 towards Escrennes. Take exit 7 and exit the A19/E60.
1 hour 21 minutes (154 km)
Then follow the D2152 and Rte de Gallerand/D109 towards your destination in Chilleurs-aux-Bois.
8 minutes (9.4 km)
Finally, head towards Château de Chamerolles, Route de Gallerand, 45170 Chilleurs-aux-Bois.
If you prefer to hail a taxi...
By taxi:
Come by taxi with one of the many taxi providers, such as
TAXI VSL ORLEANS, Taxis: Taxis AMB45, or ALLO TAXI CONVENTIONNE VSL LOIRET 45.
Please avoid using unlicensed taxis, which are neither licensed nor metered, as you will not be covered in the event of an accident.
If you prefer public transport...
Getting to Chamerolles by public transport is only possible from May to September and only on weekends and public holidays.
Indeed, the village of Chilleurs-aux-Boid, where our château is located, is not served by trains.
Alternatively, you can take the train to Orléans city center. From there, you can then take a shuttle bus, available only on weekends and public holidays between May and September, to connect Orléans city center to the Château de Chamerolles.

And to bike !
For the sporty types, if you're coming by bike, here's some information:
Chamerolles Castle is equipped with bike racks offering dedicated parking for bicycles. A roadside assistance kit and lockers for helmets and small luggage are available at the castle ticket office to better accommodate our cycle tourists. Please note that there are hiking trails around the castle, but unfortunately, no cycle paths pass through the castle. Cycle tourists must use the paths through the fields and roads.
