Collectors' Days

23 September 2023

The "collectors' days", but what is it?

- 2 days to take advantage of the presence of fifteen collectors in the great hall of the castle to discuss, exchange, buy or sell cosmetics and perfumery products and objects. A perfect opportunity to decorate or start a collection on the theme of perfumery.

But why such a theme?

- The Château de Chamerolles has always (1992) housed a permanent collection on the 1st and 2nd floors dedicated to the evolution of hygiene, perfumery and cosmetics from the Renaissance to today. The opportunity for us to evoke the habits and customs of how we lived in a castle through the centuries, the trends, the fashions, the smells that were worn at this or that time. A real sensory journey through time.

Based on this know-how and our collections, we have created this show "collectors' days", a unique event in the year to be able to get close to private collections other than ours..

Who are these "collectors' days" for?

- Actually everyone. Whether you are a collector, amateur, curious or simply passionate about heritage and culture, we invite our visitors to come on one of these two days to immerse themselves even more in our perfumed and intimate universe that is cosmetics and perfumery. The castle of Chamerolles does not steal its nickname of "castle of perfumes".  In addition, several other activities are offered in parallel with the show to offer you a real visit experience.

But what are the other activities offered in parallel with the show? You make us salivate!

- We welcome a cosmetics professional and a perfumer this weekend of October 7 and 8 to allow our visitors to create beauty products and their own perfume.
Indeed, Anaïs Mottais, cosmetics professional, proposes to create two beauty products: a day cream and an exfoliant.

These products are 100% natural and suitable for all skin types. Each participant will leave with his productions. In addition, our perfumer Pauline de Médeiros will offer a perfume creation workshop in two stages: a personality test to know your tastes and preferences. Then follows the creation of the perfume made before your eyes by the perfumer herself. She will carefully mix different fragrances that she has brought on site.  Each participant will leave with a bottle of perfume of at least 30 ml. An experience only offered during these "collectors' days".

We also do demonstrations at the perfume organ to explain how to design a perfume, decipher together the different stages, the different families of smells and make you an olfactory test where your mission is to recognize the different fragrances that our mediator will make you smell.

What are the registration procedures for these "collectors' days"?

What would be the last word?

-Emblematic. Yes because I believe that these collectors' days proposed for a very long time are anchored in habits and are emblematic of our programming. Every year from now on, these days will evolve, to offer other things in parallel always with our traditional perfume show. Then we invite you to join us to enjoy with us this beautiful program. Not forgetting of course the possibility of visiting the castle, its gardens and its park which at that time offers beautiful lights.
